Good, Bad, Worse

Let's just say this last weekend didn't turn out so happy. It started out really good in fact. Kurt and I were able to go on a double date with my sister and her husband, without any kids, and enjoy ourselves. After we had some delicious mexican food, we watched Just Go With It. Oh it is such a funny movie, one of the best investments we've made, or one of them. Then on Saturday, JK and Kelsee invited us to go to Sand Hollow and adventure on their wave runners. We found a play ball and the boys had fun trying to pass it between each other, most of the times however, it didn't reach them, and they would end up in the water from trying to catch it. We got some good sun rays and just had a blast. Thanks JK and Kelsee for inviting us! Here is where it goes down hill. Before we went to the lake, Kurt's eye was getting a little red, however it was effecting him at the time. But his eye was just producing tons and tons of goobers. So when we came home we went and got some pink eye drops thinking it was pink eye. But I just felt that as soon as we put the drops in, it made his eye even more red and worse. During the night, Kurt had to wake up a few times because his eye was sealed shut. Not a pleasant feeling he tells me. I figure he is not going to church, and so I just ended up going to Sunday School to teach our class and come home to his needs. By late afternoon his eye is burning him and leaking uncontrollably. We ended up going to the instacare to see if they could help. They gave us a perscription to see if it helps and the doctor tells us it is either pink eye or a virus, which can often times infect both eyes, and both are pretty contagious. By this time we are also applying an ice pack to see if it helps, which it does a little, however it doesn't stop for long and feels as if its getting worse. We run back to the instacare and ask if there is something else, and without further questions they give us some other type of eye drops and send us on our way, praying that these drops do the trick. I felt so helpless, what could I do to make the pain go away? Nothing really but sit at his side. Which for me was really painful. We have been lucky enough in our time together that nothing has really happened to us to where it made the other in so much pain until now. I hope never to have something like this happen again, however I know that it will sometime. Going off to work was even worse, because I could not be near him. But I was able to look up some things on the internet that could help soothe the pain, a warm wash clothe. My grandma is really big into homeopathics and so I asked her what ones will get rid of the pain. I was so relieved when it was time to go home, so I got him the homeos and ran home. I had noticed a big decline in the redness in his eye from the warm wash clothe, so that was comforting to know that he looks to be getting better. Popped in the homeos and prayed that they would work. He is still in a some pain here and there, but not as much as he was yesterday. I can finally breathe knowing that he is getting better. I have never experienced such pain before as I sat back wanting so bad to be able to help, and having no control over the situation. All I could was hold his hand and try and comfort him. Kind of opens your eyes of how maybe the Savior feels or our Father when we are struggling down here up earth. I love you Kurt and wish you would return back to your happy old self again.

Love, Death, Real Life, and Action

I've never been much of a reader, I've always loved reading, it was just hard for me to get into it. In the past months or so, I have been reading a ton! I guess that means I have been really bored or something. It all started out with wanting to read P.S. I Love You. I like the movie and so I thought I would read the book. Bad idea. Especially since I am married now. It is 10x worse being married and reading something like this. It just made my mind go in all sorts of directions and it wasn't good. But I kept reading because the book was obviously different than the movie, I felt like it was a completely different story. It was interesting, however I would never read it again, nor would I recommend it to anyone who is married. Watching the movie is fine, but when you read, the author explains all the emotions, in a movie it doesn't really say that, it just shows.
Charlie St. Cloud was my next book. I had always wanted to see the movie, but never got around to it. Everyone said it was kind of weird. I still haven't seen it, but I didn't mind the book that much. It had a different story line to it than most things I've read or seen. I still want to see the movie, partly because it has Zac Efron in it. It was a good book, but wouldn't read it again.
I am currently reading Soul Surfer. Kurt and I went and saw the movie back when it came out and I loved it. I wanted to just rent the book from the library, however, they only had one and I was on waiting list with 8 other people in front of me. That means I wouldn't have been able to have read it till like October. So Kurt bought it for me for my birthday. I am only a few pages in, but I am excited to see how it is. I always love reading true stories.
During the middle of all of these books that I read, Kurt and I are also reading a book together. One weekend when we went up north, we borrowed The Hunger Games. I had heard of them, but wasn't so interested in it from what I heard. My sister loved them. And so I decided to bring it home with us. We had 4 hours in the car and so I started there. Kurt didn't think he would be into them either, for one because its about a girl and he doesn't really like girl books. But we got really far into the book in 4 hours. And I think that he loves the book more than I do. We blasted through the first book within a week. Thank goodness my sister was coming down like the day after, because I didn't think we would read it so fast and didn't get the other 2 books. So my sister brought them down for us. We didn't read the second book as fast as the first one, now it's a little hard with school starting and all, but we try and read a few chapters a night.

On top of the world

This weekend was such a great weekend, a good end to the beginning of the summer school semester. I went and saw Kung Fu Panda 2 with my brother, and then again at midnight on Friday when my mom and sister and brother came and surprised me. I can't believe my little brother who is 6 stayed awake for the whole thing! It was even hard for me too. But I love that movie, it is so funny.  We all had a nice bike ride on saturday morning around St George then to finish it off with Orange Peel, my favorite place. While Kurt was at work, I just hung out with my family and we laid out at the pool and went shopping. My mom took us out to eat at one of my favorite mexican places, Paula's. On Sunday, I made dinner for my family and just hung out at our place. It was a nice weekend to hang out with them.
Monday, we went to Angels Landing at Zions with Tanya, Kacen, Kylee, and John. It was my first time going there and it turned out to be a really nice day. I am very afraid of heights and this hike is pretty scary if you ask me. It is way cool and awesome, just a little high for my likings. Even more scarier when you know there have been casualties on this strenuous adventure.
