April 23rd is my Dad's birthday and most of the time we go out and eat as a family, or go to a movie, or even get a dog. Well Kurt and I are going to start a new tradition here in St. George in remembrance. My dad worked for the Coca Cola company and a while back we found some Coca Cola shirts at Target and we just had to get them. So we got all ready and put on our matching shirts and headed out to celebrate. There is a place called Thomas Judd's Store Co and it has all this coca cola stuff and all different kinds of bottle drinks. So we thought to go there and buy us some Coke bottles. Not knowing it was the art festival in town, it was so crowed! We wanted to drink them there, but there were far too many people, so we grabbed them and ran. We decided to save them later for dinner. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Jimmy Johns, one of our favorite places to eat and had a great day!
Dad would've been 52 this day, can't imagine him getting more gray hairs than he already had. It's always nice to have a few days where we do things in remembrance of him. I feel like on those days he is a lot closer to us and can feel his presence more. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful father who was such a great example, so strong in the gospel, and made sure we always knew as his kids that he loves us and that we are important to him. Love it! That is so wonderful that you could do that for him and I'm sure he was in Heaven jumping for joy! This post brought tears to my eyes.
